چکیده

Two techniques are presented in this paper for a software-defined radio (SDR) receiver robust to out-of-band interference. Voltage gain is realized at IF simultaneously with low-pass filtering to mitigate blockers and out-of-band intermodulation distortion. A 2-stage polyphase harmonic rejection (HR) mixer concept robust to gain error achieves 2-6 HR of more than 60dB for 40 samples without trimming or calibration. A prototype 0.4-0.9G zero-IF receiver in 65nm CMOS has 34dB gain, 4dB NF, +3.5dBm IIP3 and +47dBm IIP2 while drawing 50mA from 1.2V. A Discrete-Time Mixing Receiver Architecture with Wideband Image and Harmonic Rejection for Software-Defined Radio

A discrete-time mixing architecture for software defined radio receivers is proposed. It exploits 8x RF voltage oversampling followed by charge domain weighting to achieve 40dB 3rd and 5th harmonic rejection without channel bandwidth limitations. Also noise folding is reduced by 3dB. A zero-IF downconverter chip in 65nm CMOS can receive RF signals up to 900MHz, with NFmin=12dB, IIP3=11dBm at <2...

A 915 MHz 175 µW Receiver Using Transmitted-Reference and Shifted Limiters for 50 dB In-Band Interference Tolerance

Improving interference robustness in Ultra-Low Power (ULP) receivers is a big challenge due to their low power budget. This paper presents an envelope detector based 915MHz 10kbps ULP receiver, which is fabricated in 65nm CMOS process for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) and Internet of Things (IoT). Two power-efficient techniques: Transmitted-Reference and Shifted Limiter, are proposed to improv...

A combined receiver front-end for Bluetooth and HiperLAN/2

A Software Defined Radio is a radio receiver that is reconfigurable by software. This reconfigurability leads to flexibility that can be used to offer more functionality to the user. Also, because common reconfigurable hardware can be used for very diverse radio interfaces, production and logistics can be faster and cheaper. In our Software Defined Radio project we aim at a receiver that is abl...

Switched-rc Radio Frequency N-path Filters

At 14:30 I will give a short introduction to my thesis You are most welcome to attend the introduction, the defense and the reception afterwards. Abstract Tunable on-chip Radio Frequency (RF) filtering is highly desirable for cost effective wireless communication devices. As mobile wireless devices increasingly support multiple RF-bands, tunable RF filtering is wanted. The tremendous growth of ...

Reducing the Power Consumption in Flash ADC Using 65nm CMOS Technology

Today, given the extensive use of convertors in industry, reducing the power consumed by these convertors is of great importance. This study presents a new method to reduce consumption power in Flash ADC in 65nm CMOS technology. The simulation results indicate a considerable decrease in power consumption, using the proposed method. The simulations used a frequency of 1 GHZ, resulting in decreas...
